Nighttime Scene Inspections

When driving at night, drivers need light to see. If a pedestrian were to cross the road, at what point would a driver be expected to recognize the presence of the pedestrian in the road? These questions can only be answered with more information, such as the available lighting at the scene, driver headlight type, etc. Closing Speed Consulting utilizes a light meter to measure the existing light, so further investigation can be done. We also use a contrast gradient board, which allows us to take fair and accurate night photos of the crash area.
